I wanted to first start by saying our trip to St. Lucia was one of the most memorable we have ever had and we have been to many destinations with my family. We are a very active travel family of 5, with three teen boys so we love adventure. We visited St. Lucia on March 21st and had 9 people with us that I booked. We had a booking of 7 and a booking of 2. All 9 of us were picked up out front by someone holding a sign with my name on it. That someone’s name was Shane. And let me tell you, we have had probably over 100 guides over the last 12 years of vacationing, and we have NEVER had someone as fantastic as Shane. Shane not only was professional, outgoing, knowledgeable, conscious of the schedule and time, fun, uplifting, good with all the kids, awesome with us 4 adults….. but he was very concerned about us having the most real experience you could possibly have on the island. He is very proud of St. Lucia and not only showed us much more than we even hoped for, but he educated us on the history and the people. He stopped along the way to the volcano and introduced us to local people squeezing sugar cane, and the people at the banana plantation, and random overlooks with amazing views and more wonderful people. He knew everyone and made sure we had the best possible experience with the upmost respect to all 9 of us. He also took us to a local Soufriere restaurant and called ahead to reserve a table and make sure the kids had burgers exactly how they wanted them, and made sure all of our food was almost ready when we got there. There were so many small details around every corner that Shane made sure we were taken care of. He really went above and beyond. We can’t thank him enough. I have at least 10 Facebook friends asking about the trip and who our guide was. I have given them all Discover Soufriere’s website and told them to ask for Shane.
